Like most efficient kitchens - the day began with food preparations (for the pizza lunch aka 'Deliziose Pizze').
In this process, the children observed the action of yeast and how it becomes active when given some 'food'. The story went as; 'Yeast' was sleeping and was woken up by its friend 'Sugar' and the party began! Geethan, our alumni Montessorian, demonstrated how to make the yeast active.
When the yeast reacted with the sugar, and we saw bubbles rise, into the flour, it went, and there was that need to knead, the dough! Great fun with the fingers (and some other parts of the body) and a good workout!
Today's pizza toppings: veggies, veggies and chicken sausages, and mozzarella and parmesan! Sorry to announce - all sold out for now! Please come back later.
Uncle Dennis and Sathish’s lesson was next with more about basketball. Today the training began for the grand tournament that is planned for Friday!
After all, that running, passing and shooting in the playground we were hungry. With some rehydration from water and fruits, we refreshed our memory about where the Beatles came from, i.e. 'Liverpool' in the UK, which we found on a map of the world. We extended this little lesson on geography by locating venues of some of their shows on the same map.
Next, we added tigers and zebras to the African poster we are making this week!
Hurray! Lunch! Uncle Sathish and Geethan screened the movie 'Home' as lunch time entertainment, complete with popcorn - of course!
Uncle Suhari’s rhythmic dance (well that was the idea, anyway!) session next - we uploaded some videos from the session, which we hope you will enjoy. The day ended on that high note!
